This guber stuff ain't cheap. Teeth...I can do without most of em. Hearing... Had to break down and get some aids. Can't complain though, I've been blessed with the resources to do it. Maybe that new helix one of you has now will come up for sale in a year or two.

I wish my wife would order hers! I'm tired of repeating everything and then yelling! Then she gets mad when I yell! No win!

2nd pair I've owned. Bought em both online. Price difference was amazing but still very high. Would be nice to have local service but I'm out in the sticks anyway. Sides, any adjustments I need can be made through my iPhone interface. This tech stuff is amazing.

I have had them. They are a pain for a person that sweats a lot like me. Kelp them in the shop(not cheap to fix) half the time. The bad thing is when in a crowd of people you can not make out who is talking. They may be better now a days. They were very expensive(bell tone) back in the day when I bought mine back in the 80's. I just ask what did you say till I am able to hear them or read their lips now days. Good luck with yours.
Be safe and good luck fishing

Shoot, being a young adult ain't much better. I was lined up to make a big order of Arkies from Reese and another big order of jigs and such from Donnie. But noooooooo, darn back to school supplies, PTA dues, cheerleading dues, HOA dues, back to school fundraiser, lol! Tempted to reach into the offering plate at church! I'm ready for those golden years!!!

Hey scrat, they much better now. I started in the 80's too with belltone too, fit inside the ear. Bad hot, and when I nodded off in church it would whistle. First internet pair was siemens, behind the ear fit with tube to ear, much better, hardly know you have em on. These now are behind the ear too, cept tube replaced by wire and tiny receiver on end of wire goes in tube. Daylight and dark difference.

Yep, I HEAR YOU !! ( Pun Intended) lol

I have been hearing impaired since a very young child, became ill and ran a very high temperature, ended up with nerve deafness. As a child was ashamed to admit it and I was also vane. Met some pretty cruel people along the way, been called every name in the book, only made me a stronger person! Graduated high School and Community college. Married a wonderful lady who has been my ears for 45 years, also have two wonderful Sons. Retired after 35 years, many of which I was a machinist.

Anyway, I am Blessed that I can hear with help from hearing aids. I had problems with behind the ear aids, because of the humidity and sweating. I now wear the in the ear aids and have no problems even fishing in the heat and humidity of Florida.

Good luck and I hope you get that Helix, we only go around once. Soon to be 75 in November.
What time is it? IT'S CRAPPIE TIME!

I began wearing aids in 2009 and found a whole new world that I didn't know was there. The sounds I missed was just humbling. We paid the big bucks for a set of Windex brand, top of the line at that time. Built in buffers similar to a Bose surround sound. I got used to them and did everything with them except shower or swim.
Last year I was diagnosed with otosclerosis which is the hardening of the middle ear. 3 surgeries later my hearing has gone from 94% loss to a 15% loss! And I'm not having to wear my aids anymore.
We take things for granted until they are gone, just human nature. I now wear my hearing protection with all small engines, metal saws, and target shooting.
