On my wish list for sure.

I mostly spider rig, but since I got the Ultrex, I use the foot pedal a bunch even in open water. It keeps my hands free from the remote to fish, re tie, untangle, or whatever you need your hands to do. It's really a huge benefit when you're using your hands for other stuff and the wind is howling. I had basically quit using my foot pedal with the Terrova or the Ultera. I'm glad I switched back. For me, the Ultrex is the best machine out there.
I've said this before, but the only improvement I can see in it would be a self deploy and stowing model.

I understand the benefit to auto stow and deploy, but let's be honest launching the boat and loading it is the biggest chore I face each time fishing by myself. There has to be a line drawn in what one is able and not able to do physically by himself. And trolling motor auto stow and deploy is not even on the list of priorities.
Why not, I use mine unloading every trip. Top of my list as far as I'm concerned but thats why they make different models. Also, in really ruff water you can get everything ready to go, fire off the outboard and get headed in the right direction and hit the stow button and your off. Unloading and then stowing in ruff seas makes it worth it weight in gold to me. I waited over a year for them to get the bugs out and have been well pleased.

When you get older and part crippled and have to fish by yourself then you will appreciate the ultera stow and deploy feature. I have the ultera and there is not any way I would get rid of it. The ultrex are good for what they are designed for and soy is the ultera.
I have had the Terrova, Ulterra and now the Ultrex like you have. I love the Ultrex! Stow and deploy on Ulterra is nice no doubt but the lift assist on the Ultrex is also nice, much easier to stow and deploy than the Terrova. I can also mount my 360 unit and SI transducer on the Ultrex with out the wiring hassle and contraptions necessary with the Ulterra and Terrova. The track on the Terrova to run transducer cable is not large enough to hold the Solix or Onix transducer cables, so you have the same obsticles with the Terrova with cables and 360 that you have with the Ulterra.
Try to find someone that has the two you are looking at, get in the boat and check them out. You are the only one that can determine what features that you want and what best fits your fishng needs. Good Luck!
The 112 Ultrex is the quietest trolling motor I have ever owned. I'm not sure if any changes were made to the new units or if I just got lucky! Lol!
I'm glad I went with the Ultrex. I've used every Minn Kota model they have and I had the Ultera on my 2017 Ranger. This new demo boat is sold now in less than a week (it was actually sold before I even got it a week ago last Thursday), but the new 521L I'm ordering today will again have the Ultrex on it. I loved the Ultera on my last Ranger because as Rees Guide said, "It makes it easier to launch when you're by yourself". That is a FACT!!! I do miss the self deploy and stow on the Ultrex unit even tho the Ultrex is much more versatile and user friendly for Fishing.

Thank ya'll so much for the insight! I appreciate everyone's feedback. I'm relatively young, 38, while I can certainly see the advantages of the Ulterra, it looks like the Ultrex is the way I will go. Once again, thanks again for all the help!
BRM, do you sell the Ultrex's?
