This is when I use to go night fishing, but I have not even done that in a couple years. I do want to start again and maybe next year I will get ready for that. You guys should give the night fishing a shot. Oh and if you live where the bugs/skeeters are bad make sure to have a couple of the Thermacell's and yes the work very well. Have seen it were we had a wall of bugs right at the edge of my boat, but not inside it, lol!

If night is out we use to go really early and get off the lake before 10 AM or very late afternoon until dark. Seems usually one is better than the other and once you find that out just go then!

I'm almost 64 and now days 88 degrees feels like 100 degrees did when I was younger but I still have grass to cut and other chores about the house.
Instead of fishing though I have volunteered for a lot of overtime at work and that will help pay for some cooler fishing trips this fall and next spring.

    Stay cool everybody!

I have told this story before but maybe some are not familiar with it. I worked 21 years in Saudi. Much of that time was outside. Temps would regularly hit 110 and a few times made it to 120 degrees. Everyone knows to stay hydrated when outside but what I learned there was to hydrate before I ever got out in it. We would consume a lot of water before ever heading out the door to work. But I have to say that as I approach 66......which is not old but getting closer...LOL......it is hard too take it anymore. Just 3 or 4 years ago I would stay out in the high 90's all day fishing. Those days are gone. But I am with pescador.....I am going to fish as much as I can. It is hot here in TN but if some lightning doesn't kick up I will be fishing tomorrow.....and if I am catching I will stay a good while....LOL.

    Regards

Well what your saying is fact for me! I am headed to 70 next March and have always been able to deal with the weather, cold or hot, but hot was harder for sure as I seemed to like the cold more when I was young. However I will say things started changing a few years ago, but the last two year have been more like all this was thrown into hyperdrive, lol! Here is a guy that use to wear short sleeve shirts to school when temps were in the 40's and living in SE Texas. Moving to today things have changed big time the last two years, not the heat is just too much to take long. The cold, heck what I use to call warm is now cold as all get out! Last winter when it was 71 inside I needed a darn long sleeve shirt, here you kidding me? I am flabbergasted at all this temp stuff and am so surprised by this. However I now know when old people say they are cold, they really are, lol!

So you guys getting close to my age, meaning over 60, you may want to get ready for this infliction to come see you before too long, LOL!

It's been 105 plus heat index here. I love to fish as much as the next guy, maybe more. But I can't handle the heat.

I am almost 80 and I am Blessed.....I prefer cold weather the best...the heat just drains your body of all your energy....I am going fishing every chance I get because I know those days are numbered....I fish by myself 99% of the time....it is hard to get up at 4 and launch at 6 but after I get out there and toss that cork a few times, all the aches and pains in my body are gone...I cool off by soaking a towel in my ice chest cold water and drooping it across my head letting the cold water drip all over my head and shoulders....it dries off pretty quick but does the job....along with a few Fanta orange drinks....went the other day when it was cloudy and stayed till 12:30....usually quit around 11 on the hot days....don't keep a lot of fish but don't want to clean many either...I agree with what was said above, if it ain't fun, don't do it....79 1/2 and still having fun....
