    Default Gadsden Fuel Source Selection

Well I just coughed up some significant cash for 2 stroke engine carb issues. I'm sure it was related to the fuel.

So anyways, i just wanted to toss the question out there.

Where are you buying your fuel in Gadsden area, ethanol or non ethanol and do you use a fuel additive, if so which one?

I have been trying to buy all my fuel at the Conoco in Rainbow City, 93 octane. Supposedly it is non ethanol. Not sure if 93 = non ethanol or non ethanol comes in the lower octanes.

    Anyways........what ya think ?

I get my non-ethanol at Stevens gas station on 77 $3.09 a gallon , I run through 10-20 gallons a week and never have had a problem. Also non-ethanol does come in different octanes.

Can't help ya in Gadsden area . But regardless of what folks say and clam that ethanol isn't bad. I have spent hundreds and hundreds of dollars getting the jelly out of the carbs and fuel tanks/fuel systems in the past so for the last couple of years I use 100% gasoline in all my small engines and boat motors .since then I never have had trouble .im not sure that all 93 octain is suppose to be pure or not . so I use the local mom / pop stations that sell only 100% through individual pumps. In my area 100% is about .60 cents more but it's well worth it to me. Some say they are no such thing as 100% gasoline but the proof is in the pudding that they are a difference.

Can't help in Gadsden. I run no ethanol later in the year because I don't fish much in the winter. But all summer I run either one because I'm going to use it before it can go bad. As far as gas treatments I've had gas go bad in my small engines with and without it , so I think it's a gimmick.

Well everyone has difference experiences, but I run 87 octane with ethanol with no additives. Hadn't had any trouble in the last 10 plus years since ethanol has come more wide spread. I've have multiple boats with no issues both carborated and fuel injected. My thought is if you use your boat frequently enough and can burn the gas you have in the tank within a month you should be OK. I use my boat at least once I week sometimes 3-4 times a week so that might be why I don't have any trouble. If you have a boat you use once a month or even less I think your money ahead to use 100% gas. Letting ethanol sit for long periods of time it will layer out so that's when you start having problems. Just my opinion though do what you think is best for you

So I have a four stroke engine, use ethonal regular octane 87 fuel with an additive. No problems for years with that formula. I try to keep tank pretty low during the winter and always put additive in with each fueling.

There is an app called pure gas. Will have list for your area to buy pure gas. Have used on many out of town trips. Very handy
