Mine were shaking a little from road bounce and air traveling down the highway....seemed like everytime i went fishing one of the stainless screws would break. I cured that by taking a,10X10 piece of aluminum plate 3/16 thick and welding a piece of 1/4 aluminum scrap in the center.....then i put some beads of F26 adhesive on bottom side and mounted with a lot of stainless hex head screws. Then i drilled and tapped two holes for the rodholder and fastend down with stainless bolts....solid as a rock. Did all four rod holders this way. Over kill i know but it works. Second the motion on rivnuts !! The work good . There are utube videos out there that show you how to set them without the expensive tool.

Should be able to pick these up at any Fastenal store. You could pick up "G" with just a couple of them IF you install them correctly! Mounting spyder lok rod holders

I've done literally hundreds of Aluminum Boats with the screws. Not one single issue. If you're worried about them wallowing out, just put some red Loctite on them. I also have rivnuts, but the screws work just as good and take a smaller hole. I use rivnuts to install Trolling motors on bows that don't have access. I have had some of those wallow out tho. I've got a $1200.00 air drive rivnut tool I use, so I do em right. Lol

What BRM said. And I have too. And I have the way lesser expensive tool.
Best advice I can give is, anything installed incorrectly is prone to problems.

Ok Thanks! That's what I needed to know. I just thought I would ask peoples opinion since my boat is a lot older and the aluminum seems thinner than say, your newer tracker toppers. I'll be ordering some here soon and give it a try. Thanks guys!
