Default Hot temps and hot bite on Truman

Bite has been getting better and better as the lake lowers and the temps outside get hotter. Fished from 2' out to 20' and found two patterns. First was suspended fish at 5'-6' down in 10'-16' of water. That keyed us in to move shallow. Most of the fish were caught in 4'-8' right on the bottom dragging jigs through brush around and off the tree rows. Jigs tipped with nibbles and tipped with minnows were about equal. Caught this good hybrid right before we left at lunch time.

Forgot to add that this was yesterday morning and we fished the Osage arm. Junebug/Chart was the bait color of choice fished on a 3/16 oz Timmy Tom weedless jig head.

Where are those jig heads sold? Painted weedless is hard to find unless you do it yourself.

You can find them online at Timmy Toms - Jig Company

I have been using them 100% of the time since we went to Lake Fork the first week of April. I have never used weedless in the past except for when the kids were fishing under a bobber. They are not cheap compared to a standard jig head. But when you figure in how many standard jigs you go through fishing brush and beds like I do it will actually save money. You can still lose a few if getting in a hurry raising a jig out of the brush or your partner takes off on the trolling motor and your not expecting it Tim makes them with and with out a under spin blade. It is great in the dirty water we had at lake Fork and lately here on Truman. I also trim the weedguard back some and make a cut that is parallel with the hook shank. Have not noticed any issues with hook sets. He also makes a bunch of nonlead items for the northern guys.
