I wish that I would have read the post about the moon before I went out. But as usual, I was a day late.
I hit the boat ramp at first light and headed to the bridge to see if I could jig up some action. Nope ! Moved around a little. Still no action.
OK, time to do some scouting ! There were some areas the I haven't tested yet. Managed to find a new grass bed and tried working that. Pulled 3 small gills. Moved down river. Nothing ! It was getting hot, called it a day.
It was still a good day an the water, just not as much action as I would have liked.
another good day at the office !

I wont go so far as to say I will not fish or hunt a full moon, just do not expect great things on those days. Except shrimping, 5 days before to 5 days after are the best typically for me. Exact opposite of everything else outdoors it seems.

For me the very best time to go fishing is when ever I can go. After that, anything that improves the odds is just icing on the cake.

What time is it?IT'S CRAPPIE TIME!
Thanks for the report as I'm trying to get a little ahead as my wife and I will be down in the Welaka (St.Johns river) area the month of April next year. As our Daughter and family live just north of Jacksonville and I can't go to the beach ,eat and shop with the family every day. Besides how at the kids going to learn about fishing and nature is someone who does it doesn't show them ?
May all the fish tales you catch be longer than the ones you tell !
