The most important part of a Crankbait is the lip. I got to wondering if I could duplicate that lip action on a 1/64th or 1/32nd ounce jig head. The angle of any crankbait lip doesn’t affect how deep the crankbait dives. It affects the action of the lure. The lip will get that enticing wiggling or wobble or side to side action when they are pulled through the water. I wanted to try and experiment to get that on a 1/64th lure jig head. This is what I came up with by using Loctite to secure a Colorado Blade lip to a tiny jig head. This will give you the "Flash" of an underspin and the "Wobble" of a crank bait. What do you guys and gals think? I am calling this a crankkbait jig. I bend the hook and then angle it up so as to get a better hook set. Use a needle to drop just a tiny bit of loctite on the jig head to secure the lip to the jig head. Add on a soft plastic trailer.

Looks good. Isn't there a scrounger head or something like that from strike king? It might work to if you run out or don't have time to make them.

That's a keeper you have there ShipHave tied something close to those before and it is surprising how the fish react to them. Well done

This is a scrounger head. I just looked it up. They are expensive and are 1/8 ounce.
You can get 25 small Colorado blades for under 3 bucks and make your own 1/64 and 1/32nd ounce jig heads. They have the tight wiggle action.
This is a scrounger....to each his own.
This is mine

why not? I like it when guys experiment just for the heck of it and maybe find something that really works.

I'm liking that idea, and I can see it working because its something different. Let us know how it works out.

I beg to differ the angle and size of a crankbait lip does affect the depth they will run.
Angle has a lot to do with it. Might not be that way on light jigs.....but on a real crankbait it does.
