    Default 7/1/2017 Archusa report

Wow! I got to meet my first big time crappie.com'er this morning. Got to the ramp at 5:30 am this morning and there was Rees Guide getting ready to launch his boat. John is a great fisherman to talk with really knows how to get on fish and catch them. Being his first time out on our small lake and with all the past rains and muddy water he was still able to catch more and bigger fish this morning than me. Fish were scattered and not wanting to cooperate good this morning. Hope to see John and other crappie.comer's on Archusa lake in the future. There will be a boat parade and fireworks show July 3 that's Monday night at Archusa Creek Water Park if anyone is interested. Hope everyone is having a great fishing year. Don AKA Scrat

Picture of John AKA Rees Guide with a couple of good size crappie and a picture of the sun trying to rise this morning.

Thanks for the post, scrat. New water is always a challenge, and looks like John met it! Would like to try that lake and meet you....it looks beautiful! That boat parade and fireworks sounds like fun, wish I could make it!

I caught 4 or 5 crappie no size much, about 10-11" size and a few more real short throw backs. I was spider fishing minnows and John was pulling Pico crankbaits. The big ones seem to really like those Pico baits.
