Default Suggestions for where to bring a couple kids fishing near BR

Any suggestions on where to bring a couple kids fishing this weekend near Baton Rouge? I usually fish Old River but I think I'll be wasting my time there with the MS River slowly rising. I'm considering Henderson but have never fished it. Just want to be able to put a couple bream in the boat.

Thank you. That's probably where I'll try. I was thinking about Verret but haven't heard of any good reports recently.

Just remember in the Verrett, 4 Mile, Belle River and surrounding area there is an "idle only" speed around any camps due to high water....and it is being enforced...

I think I'm going to try Henderson Monday. Is there a bait shop nearby?

Spillway Sportsman west side of Hwy 1 about 1 1/2 miles south of I10....or, Dickies, in Addis, 6 miles south of I10 on Hwy 1.....for breakfast, there is Waffle House and a McDonalds at the 415 exit off I10 couple miles west of Hwy 1....good parking pulling a boat at both places....

Thank you. Probably going Tuesday morning. Took them to Old River today mainly to do some boat riding. Didn't fish much. Probably going to bring my 5 year old. My 3 yo isn't quite ready to make a serious fishing trip. He was restless in the boat today.
