I did find some suspected cyanobacteria cells in the sample that I took but it looks to be in a pretty low density. Not harmfull right now. If you start to see very dense blooms like the picture below from Harris Brake earlier in the spring, let me know. Thanks.

That's how it looked inside the horns of Lawrence landing Sunday, But it was obvious it had blown I from the main lake and just stacked up there.

wow, that looks like Newport Lake when I go there to play golf every July. It has totally taken over one side of the lake over the last 3-4 years. I will be on the lookout when I go. Will probably hit the water tomorrow morning.

what causes it and how can you eradicate it?

It is trigger by high amounts of phosphorous in the water column and lake bed and normally warm water. Not much can be done in the lake to prevent it.
