Well looks like another trip back to Bass Pro. Guy sold me the wrong dang dongle. I told him it didn't look right, but didn't have a pic. And no Ultrex TM's on display![]()

Everything is installed, everything working together and communicating properly. Just got to tidy everything up tomorrow and boat will be fish ready Saturday at 5:30am. Decided I'm going with two custom fabbed battery boxes on the front deck. I like the idea of having the weight of the two 31's up there. It will be some what of an extension of the deck without having to cut it out.. Anyways, dang it's been muggy today, where's my beer and AC??![]()
After all that.....you deserve several many cold ones Snubby.

All I can say is WOW!! Got to try my new Ultrex today on my 1652, and it's awesome and is the power I've been looking for in a TM. I trolled cranks at 1.5 - 2.1 mph today for 6 1/2 hours and about half that time going into 5mph wind. Checked the batteries when I got home and still had 45% which means I could have trolled at least 3 more hours or so. I agree, for most folks they aren't going to stay out in the heat and troll crank-baits all day. I was also worried I went to big on thrust and too long on shaft length, nope & nope!! I would say you could get away with a 55# tm (two 29's in parallel) and be fine if you wanted to troll for 4-6 hours and call it a day. The one thing that made up my mind on the Ultrex was the foot control for single poling, still has the cable style feel I'm used to, with electric steering assist. The variable 20 speeds are awesome, I couldn't answer a lot of your questions yesterday when we spoke Mr. Curtis, but to me this unit was worth every nickle I spent on it. Only downside I saw, it frees you up to do a lot more snackingIs it a requirement for everyone to have an Ultrex 80# or 112#? Absolutely not. Does it fit me and my style of fishing, you bet!
Ok Snubbys here 's your TM report above...... ...so hows about a few words about the Helix 10.....Thanks
So far I'm enjoying it very much. I like having the sonar split screen with the lakemaster map card for reading contours and such. The 10 is big enough for my eyes to see, would I have preferred a 12? Of course, but I opted to spend the extra $500 on the TM over the extra $ for a 12" unit. I do not regret my decision. I went into this with the mindset thinking ahead with the 80# Ultrex, in case I ever got a bigger boat maybe one day. Now that I have had a taste taste of the Ultrex coupled with the Helix 10 on my 1652, they will both remain on the boat as long as I own it. If I ever find the money to purchase another boat, then I will have to find the cash to refit it as well!!
