Sounds about the same ratio of dinks to keepers that the Green River Lake boys are catching.

And if you don't mind telling :

How bad was the boat traffic ?
What method(s) were you using to catch the fish ?
At about what depth were they at ?
Were they suspended in open water or around cover ?

You don't have to worry about me going there and slaying 'em ... my trailer has some problems that I'm working on addressing, so I'm out of commission for awhile.

don't mind at all boat traffic was not bad at all, i was using a set up i got from one of your threads i believe 2 jigs under a slip float but instead of plastic bait i used minnows they were tight on cover in 25 to 30 fow and i was fishing 7 ft down also i found it helped to bounce the float or maybe that is just in my head but thats what i did lol i had a great time 25 fish in a day is a big deal for me

Yeah ... there was a day when 25 Crappie @ Taylorsville was a "slow" day (unless you just wanted some pullage)

Problem then was ... they were short & thin. But, the last few years have produced some good numbers of quality fish. We can only hope that the boon years are still in progress, and the bust years of the past are long gone.

Can't rightly take credit for that method, though, as I'm not too keen on double rigs ... be they plastics or minners !! But, happy that you got out & got into 'em.

Thanks for the report, & the added info !!

I like your post Dannyr3. As Pappy mentioned, I am having same luck on Green fishing vertically with a double jig rig and catching mostly dinks. I wonder if fishing a bigger jig would catch a bigger fish? I moved up to 2.5" BG slab dockt'r because it looks bigger than the single tail jigs. Only tried once for an hour or so, but I intend to pursue further.

maybe i am not sure why the bigger fish are not bitting. i know they are in there because i was cathing them earier in the year. it seemed like the entire world heard about it though because taylorsville got pounded, you could not find a spot to park your trailer for for awhile it got so bad i stopped going on the weekends but they were there even through the week but i am ranting now sorry i think they might be in deep water but i am not the one to answer

The Bite at Green was beginning to pick up. Caught these Wednesday spider rigging jigs. This tropical depression will push them back out. Just have to work harder and figure out where they are hiding.

Very Nice, Mike !! Good for you !!

But, if Taylorsville Lake got anywhere near the rain that Lexington got .... it'll be up in the trees (we got close to 3")
