Default Operation North State 6/23 Randleman

We had a great day on the water yesterday, it got hot early but we had a little bit of wind to cool us off.
got away from the dock at about 8:30 went to an areas that fish had been holding, set out some minnows and tight lined around and around.Had a Vet and husband on the boat, they managed to boat 56-58 Crappie, 6 Green carp, 4 Bream and one perch. We had several doubles and break offs. There were 65-67 boats and 70 plus Vets plus care givers out to fish.We fished till 2 and headed to Richard Petty's house for a late lunch.
Randleman is a nice lake, it's either State or County run and is a drinking water source for the area. The Rangers were friendly and helpful, they even had minnows brought in on Monday and offered them free for the event. They also dropped the limit on Crappie for the day so you could take as many as you wanted. Maynard said they boated 150 plus and took home 70 home.
Randleman is closed Monday and Tuesdays.

Grady, thanks for your service and your time you put in with these ladies and gentlemen. I know you take a lot of pride in this project. Thank you so much! You had a really good day out on the water, that's a lot of fish. Glad the rangers were friendly and in the mood to help.
I wish Wylie was that good to us with the numbers of fish.
You did a great job with the Vets.

Excellent job Grady thanks for taking time out to help my fellow vets. You are a very special person giving back the way you do. I got some rods and reels for you. Will try to get them to you asap. Good day of fishing that the group had. Thanks

Terry just sent the stats for Randleman, there were more boats and Vets than I thought, Check out the pictures because everyone likes pictures.Hello Randleman Lake Host Boaters,

Thanks again to all of you for serving as a Host Boater yesterday. Good times were had by all!

The Festival isn’t possible without the support from our Host Boaters – 71 Teams launched! We were six teams over our goal of 65. The participating wounded warriors and DVets had a blast. I trust you did too. Hope to see all of you again next year. Recreational outings are changing and even saving their lives!

And, ONS greatly appreciates the support of the planning committee, sponsors, supporters and volunteers. The Festival is around a $46,650 day at retail value made possible by incredible community/grassroots support. Special thanks to Richard Petty, the Petty Family Foundation, IFB Solutions, the Piedmont Triad Regional Water Authority, Snyder Farms Catering, American Legion Post 94 (Snow Hill), Smithfield Foods, Brad Staley for the weigh-in services and so many more folks!!!

I have attached a donation receipt for your guide services. ONS isn’t allowed to determine the dollar amount; you must determine that value.

And, here are the “by-the-numbers” results of the Festival:
Retail Value of New Bern TSFF $46,647
The “King” Richard Petty Attended #43
    High Temperature 90
Rain: Zero – Started raining as soon as I left RP’s House/Farm
    Teams on the Water 71
    Wounded Warriors /DVets 72
    Host Boaters 71
    Volunteers on the Grounds 17
    No Shows: Host Boaters 1
    No Shows: WWs/DVets` 3 (INCREDIBLE)
    WW/DVet Extras took
    No-Shows Spots 4
Note: We had a 6 percent no-show rate for this Festival – (that’s real good). A 35% no-show rate is the norm for wounded warriors and DVets events
    Big Bass 8.91 lbs.
Big Bass Bag (3 fish) 15.25 lbs.
Crappie HUNDREDS – TOO MANY TO COUNT

FYI: I have attached our 2017 Fishin’ Festival Schedule; please share with fellow anglers and try to join us when you can at other lakes/venues! We are at Jordan Lake on Friday, September 29 if you would like to attend contact me!

Send me any pictures you may have from the Festival – email them to [email protected].

Below is the Randleman Lake Top Shelf Fishin’ Festival Facebook Photo Album. I’ll be updating the photo album in a few days once I receive pictures from yesterday’s Festival.
