think about this, if there was a trash can, someone has to be paid to come empty it, wouldnt it just be simpler if we all just carried and disposed of our trash at home? i mean when u camp there is no trash cans dispersd throughout the woods, im thankful just to have a nice concrete ramp to put the boat in, go out of state and check out some of there ramps, they look like two cubscouts with a round shovel made them, or worse, some just look like the road ( and i use that term loosely) just dead ends in the water, i usually have a walmart bag i put empty bottles, line, snack wrappers in and tie it up, throw it in the truck and when i stop for gas or get home throw it away, no biggie, the folks that litter up the parking lot are gonna do it with or without a trash can

I do the same thing when I go home (WV) and do some trout fishing. It's amazing the amount of fishing line and other trash you can pick up without much effort. I come out with 2 bags, 1 full of fish and 1 full of trash.
I know my kids would greatly appreciate a bathroom. My little blue bucket just doesn't cut it anymore. lol

The trash can is just a convenience. I have a trash bag in my boat and empty it at home. Restrooms is a different subject. Most women, children and older men like the privacy and ease of a restroom. A porta-jon would be better than nothing. If it were not for theft, a "honor box" could pay for the porta-potty. Something needs to be done. When you look at the money spent for the boats and tow trucks that use these ramps, something could be done.

Aren't the ramps at Jordan with restrooms the ones that are within a portion of a state park? Its been a while since I've been there but Farrington didn't use to have any.

The Duke energy lake management is your contact for Duke ramps. They have renovated numerous ramps so we have a precedent to go on. If you have seen the Norwood ramp (nicks) (lakeshore dr) at Tillery you will see bathrooms, trash cans, curbing, picnic shelter, landscaping, and lighting. May be as simple as contacting Duke lake management and find out what if any plans are in place. I'm 2 hours from Harris but if it is as bad as you say I would place trash drums and maintain them. Maybe Duke would get the message. You have local state reps as well.

The rest rooms are needed. As for trash, it is bad around the ramp parking areas. What trash I have seen in the lake itself is not bad at all. You are going to see some just from blowing out of boat(should not be any)but it really is not bad. There is a lot of rest room debris along trails and in the edge of woods. Come on people. We have to take pooper bags when we walk the dog. Get into the real world.
