Crankin' on Ky Lake 6/06/17
Was able to get out this morning til about lunch time and chase some slabs. Did some spider rigging for about an hour, then hit some beds jigging, and both produced nothing......zero.....empty livewell!
Around 9am, I headed out to the main lake, did some scanning, and went to work with the cranks. Water temps had just started to hit 80 degrees, and when I found the fish, it was fins and fury! Stripes, yellows, kitty cats, green carp, a lone bluegill, and fresh mess of slabs!
Had a good time and it was my best outing to date pulling cranks. I have to put out a big thank you to MrDux, Doug Wynn, owner of Crappie-Gills-& More, for a great trip last week. My wife and I learned alot, and today was my first trip out since going to "Crank School", so I must have been paying attention!!

Nice work! I had two mean bluegills jump on my cranks this morning. The lures were almost as long as they were.

Those are some nice looking fish. Congrats

Just starting to learn cranks for crappie myself...

Bandchaser, man, nice pictures and report. I also have been with MRDUX. starting to collect some Bandit 200, 300 lures. Need to get my boat set up for Crankin. I guess I will 'pull' since I will be alone most of the time. The great thing with Crankin is that you NEVER know what it going to attack the lures, Crappie, White Bass, Bluegill, Drum, Green Carp, Blue or Channel Cats, Walleye, Sauger. I'm waiting for a report of catching a Bugle Mouth Bass (Carp) while crankin. Will be drilling holes and setting up rod holders to set up for Crankin on my little 16 footer. Don't know if my budget will withstand the cost of his nice setup for the fishing pedestals/seats he used on the back of the boat. But, If you have two people at the rear, this is the way to go.

pulled for 3 hrs today........1 crappie (12.5") and a few nice channel cats, all invited to dinner!!
Caught a few sauger and whites, fun day, just like to find where the crappie are hanging!!
Pulled some Bandits, 200's and 300's, pink and/or orange colors did best.
