I am not going to take or post photos of all those 6 to 8 inch crappies I keep catching on Patoka. Enjoy your photos and info.

I feel for ya and I haven't fished Patoka yet this year and it used to be the only lake Iwould fish all year long. And I have drove down there twice and looked at it as it's only 25 miles or so as the crow flies.

Here is 5/20 crappie USA results as they are dismal as well. DNR stocked more than 6 million walleye fry in it in 2016 again and years before 30 million or more. You would think we would have an abundance of walleye as well.

Dogwood sucks anymore and the weeds are now choking it as well as West Boggs. I give up on those 2 also. I bought a yearly admission to Boggs and won't go back anymore this year.

Since when do you listen to your wife? Then again, maybe she has yanked on your chain.

i havent been crappie fishing much this year. been hard on the gills and bass. you guys dont want to know about them on here. lol also you big res. guys have to remember, we have small lakes in the northern part of the state. there are no talent bottom feeders types on here that will converge on your lake like locusts. that will ruin a 200acre lake fast. ruin the 10spot parking lot even faster. also dont fool with as many pics as i used to.

what happened to patoka lake anyhow? it used to have a great rep.

Don't give away small lakes your fishing. As for Patoka, schools of shad bigger than crapppies abound. That is what ruined the gill fishing. 5 yrs ago, I was posting pics of 14" crappie limits on crankbaits when it flooded and went over spillway out of Painter Creek. I think the too mild of winters is not creating the shad kills like we used to have. You really have to fish all day hard now, sort the dinks just to have a few crappie to even clean if your that lucky to find 10" fish. When we had the first bass tourneys on the lake, first 3-4 yrs, we had 1000 lb weigh ins, several years later the norm was 300 lb weigh ins, now its way less. Fishing pressure is heavy as well. Patoka can always come back as it may be in a turn down time frame. Hope so.
