Just wondering if anybody else has had an opportunity to see the vast improvement that Minnkota has made with the new Terrova and Ulterra's in holding on a anchor waypoint. I fished in a boat last weekend that had one and compared to my Gen I Terrova it is 10 times better in holding steady over brush piles. We were in about 10 mph winds and I'd say the boat barely drifted 3 feet maybe. It was almost undetectable. Based on my experience, I'll be upgrading soon. But I'd love to hear from some of you of your experiences with it before I buy just incase it behaves differently in other circumstances. Thanks.
Yup my Terrova is a 1st gen and that anchor spot is damn near useless. Glad you posted this, curious to see what owners of the latest gen have to say about it.

I've used both the Ultera and now the Ultrex with the new spot lock and Blue Tooth. They are amazing pieces of equipment. Locks in fast and stays put really well. Much improved over the old ones.
The Ultrex is As Advertised for being the best of both worlds when pole fishing trees, and trolling. I use my foot pedal all the time. It's FAST, smooth as silk, and has no torque on your foot because it works in conjunction with the electronic motor.
5 star rating for me.

I ran a friends on a pontoon in 12-15 winds a couple of weeks ago. You could set it and like Mac said maybe a 3 ft drift at most.

I have the Ultrex. Had the Terrova before.
The Ultrex is, what the Terrova was supposed to be!
BRM is absolutely spot on in his comments above.

If you use a foot control why have anything but cable steer ? I hate the motor noise and response (steer movement ) much slower waiting on motor to turn . Have not seen the newer spot locks but old ones sucked . GPS only good + or - 10 ' on best days . Many brush piles I fish not 10' wide .

Ive got the (riptide) Ulterra 24v 70lb. only had it a month so still learning. Have it Eathernet connected to a Helix 10 and 9 . Amazing ! It really works in stiff winds so that tells me it isnt so great in shallow water with high winds cuz it would stir up the bottom , but i will say a 3-4 ft. variance is all im getting in 15mph winds. So in brush 12- 15 ft + its great. Ive still got alot of learning to do .....Already in wishing i would have gone with the Terrova simply because sometimes i would like to have a foot control .
