We were back in a cove between two hills, no cell phone service. That little boomer sneaked up on us, we got soaked. Sun came out, we sorta dried, kept fishing, clouded back up. Then another boomer, sneaker and badder than the first, we didn't suspect anything until a sudden huge bolt of lighting cracked above us. Fired up and headed to the launch, got a bit of rain then ran out of it, managed to get the boat on the trailer and tied down before it got there.
The fishing was spotty, enough to keep interest up. Not a lot of fish, but what we got were really nice. All in all, a good day of fishing.
Good reminder of why you ALWAYS take rain gear. Except this trip..............

Something to think about - You are sitting in a boat. On water. Holding a graphite rod. You are the ultimate lightening rod.
I'll smoke just about anything (in my smoker)
The fishing is always great. The catching varies.

hey jeff we didn't get into any that big when you took me and byford out, what gives? LOL, glad you guys caught some nice ones and I have been in that situation hanging onto trees to not get blown out of boat and getting soaked and lightining hitting around you. glad you made it out without too much damage.

Graphite rods are conductors of electricity? didn't know that.
