It is with great joy that I post this report today. I had the honor of going with Labman (Norman) to Watts Bar this morning early for hopefully some Striper action. We had a little, but it was brief.
We got on the water shortly after 6:30 and TVA was running 47,000 CFS so I knew where the fish should be. We made a couple of drifts and caught some large white bass and I think it was on our 3rd drift that Norman hooked up with a train. Grin.
It started running down river, so we followed it for a while in that very swift current and finally after a 5 to 7 minute fight, Norman brought that 18.5 lb Striper to net. We no sooner got the pics and weights on that fish when TVA shut down the turbines, dropped the water over 12" in just a couple of minutes. They did start maybe 3 turbines back up but were running very gently. That in effect, shut the bite down for us.
I did stake claim to my Drumking title as I landed 2 Drum and 2 white Bass. Norman caught that big Striper and 3 white bass, so all in all, it was worth the trip up to get Norman on a big fish. We quit before 8:30 and were on our way home by 8:46.
Water temp was 68+ on Labman's temp gauge.

Just because you're paranoid doesn't mean there is no one out to get you
Below the dam at Watts Bar
