God bless all those current and past veterans. My best friend in nam never came home with the rest of us. I used to train door gunners at ft eaustis in Virginia back in the 60s.
My fishin partner was a crew chief on a chopper in nam. He said the only thing that separated him from the north was a mountain

Memorial Day is for bringing that grief to the surface on a national scale. This day is the nation’s chance to pause and remember the brave lives that were sacrificed to defend the Constitution. Sacrificing a life and sacrificing years of time are two different things. It's not Veterans Day. Veterans Day is for those that are living.
Memorial Day is for the memories. Care really needs to be taken to consider the huge aspect of what is being expressed on that day: lives were lost and families were shattered through acts of war.
Period.

I have been at Arlington National Cemetary and searched for my friends also.
Thank you so much for your post Tracker 123. If that didn't touch your heart, then you have no heart.
Amen. My job was sending the F-105 fighter pilots to Nam and investigating aircraft accidents stateside. Many brave men and women did not return home to their families. Again, thank s are NOT ENOUGH for all who served, but IT IS the least we can offer.
