Default Parking Fee's. What are funds used for?

The boat ramp at Holiday lodge has been filled with sand going on about a month now. Very difficult to launch a boat and some getting stuck trailer drops off and wheels in sand. What the heck is the purpose of the parking fees if they can't spend 30 minutes with a back hoe cleaning out the ramps? I bet if it was the main ramp by the dam, it would be done in a heart beat. And they need to put one of those piers at Holiday lodge as well. The ramp at the damn isn't a problem trying to park a boat in the wind.

And I'm still amazed at how many boats I see get stuck on that little point coming into the ramp at Holiday. They really need signs for those less educated. I've helped at least 3 people get off the bank before sinking. People aren't very observant considering the bank juts out that way. Oh well. Be kind to one another and help them if needed. I watched people just look at them, laugh and take off. Bad way to lead life.

That said, still some good jig fishing going on in spots. Glad most decided to stop fishing.

Ramp fees are not used for any type of lake maint. I'm told they go back to a general fund in Washington. COE has a new, very expensive, special backhoe that they are using to clean out several ramps on the the lake. I don't know why they wouldn't work on Holiday, they have done Wyatts and the useless Hwy. 7N ramp.
Sand and silt is a problem at all the ramps, and the upper end of Sardis is tough, especially with the low water conditions.

Hwy 7 is government at it's finest. It'll be 50 yards to the water by next spring again.

Rec fees go back to the Treasury Dept and not to the lake. Hwy 7 is a fine example of the State regulations mandating a change in a Federal design...

    You can help the problem.
Shovel a load of that slit in your truck and take it home.
If that special backhoe is there they will load it for you.

Some of the fees at Sardis needs to go towards fixing the road to Indian mound. The Corp destroyed it this winter making more mounds. I can't believe they left it in that shape.

I put in at lespideza just to avoid all the bass guys and fleas last Saturday morning, sure I had to wade back to the truck loading up, but it was worth it, only trailer in the lot save one when I got back. Put in a Holiday Sunday and it wasn't that bad, there is a hole, but never had to put it in 4wd. Be anxious to see this special backhoe and what they do with it
