Is that Pickwick Dam in the background?

I have not had a lot of success in finding bluegill and shellcracker so far this year. My spots that I have fished have had a roller coaster spring with water temps up and down...mostly down. Many of the places I fish the water levels are 10 feet higher than same time last year...our area has had a lot of rain. I have caught a few the last couple of days. Have been on the water for the full moon both in April and May but have not found any bedding Gills.....and neither have others I have talked to. But I will continue to try. White bass fishing has saved my fishing so far this spring...been killing those.

I Am seeing the same trend on my bream lakes . Even in my private lake there is one shallow bed where there is normally 5-6 . Deeper beds are there but neither seem to have many fish since early April . Would say they were not there but fish the wood and they are there .
Its going to happen in the next 2 weeks or so. Same here so for.
We had 10 inches of rain in less than a week ever thing is flooded here to and temp has been up and down
I'm here on Lake Barkley and while I've had a couple of successful trips fishing for shellcrackers, something just doesn't feel right. I'm not seeing many nests, just a few here and there with not a lot of fish on them. I'm going to give it a go leading up to next week's new moon.
Yesterday, I looked back at pictures of fish from the last five years and my better fish were almost always caught around the April and May full/new moons. I'm hoping they have a good run this next 7-10 days!!
we haven't really tried much for them this year , but ours seemed to be up earlier than in the past years
