I guess I should know myself well enough by now to know the only way I am going to redear fish is to leave all manner of crappie gear in the garage. I made a few half hearted efforts to find some but in the end I did what I do. Some very nice ladies still hanging around, in fact don't think there is a male in the bunch. Looked like they were cutting the water loose thru Kentucky Dam on the way home, should be like fishing a whole new lake by the time I get to go again. Not redear but I will settle for a limit of slabs in May and maybe next year I will leave the crappie stuff at home.

Nice haul brother. You aren't missing much on the other fishes. They are gone on Ky and never showed up on Barkley. Really weird of course. All flood gates are out. They must be seeing rain!! Back to crappie! Got the funds! Thanks

I kind of doubt it, been a lot better fishermen than me doing it on Barkley for years and it isn't a secret really. Still meet 5 times as many boats leaving Barkley surrounding area headed to Kentucky Lake when I go that way. There is a reason those folks are burning gas and spending the extra time. Barkley can be very fickle at times, talked to several guys still crappie fishing really struggling this week. Been there and done that and have several tee shirts from mid May on the north end. Feel a little guilty but the pattern I was on was very specific and no way to explain it in general terms without giving away the whole shooting match.
But you might be right Brian, in the long run I might be better off not posting. I remember though when I first started hanging out on here and would have bad days and think maybe they weren't biting or the moon wasn't right or whatever. And then I would see Wiskers or somebody had caught a bunch and it made me wonder what I needed to do to catch fish. Or encouraged me to go back the next day and figure something else out. So that is why I will probably continue to put reports up even if it does bring a little more pressure in the long run.

Good job!!! Yes Barkley can be very fickle but you definitely have it figured out. Wednesday afternoon the fish had moved from where I'd been catching them.
Austin do what makes you happy and enjoyable in fishing. I truly enjoy your posts. Congrats again.
