I'm tols that Shellcrackers like a dark jig as small as you canmake it. Hit youtube for some ideas, I found a couple. Look up a dragonfly and damselfly larvae, everything eats them.

Check out lights out jigs and flies on Facebook. Guy by the name of Zac Church. He just went to a bream tournament and he was using small fly looking baits. If you can't see the pics let me know and I will inbox them to you.

I have some flies for you to consider, but small jigs will work especially if you put a little something on the hook, like a tiny piece of Power Bait little worms bits. These flies will work great though!

Probably a #10 or #12? Couple probably also get away with a #8 in a pinch?

You build the shape with thread, first the back end, then the hackle and then finish shape up front. Then coat with UV Glue and they should be ready for the battle! The thread give you all the color you need.

Now I didn't like the distance between his body parts, but I guess the hook shank should play into that part, but here is a guy doing a hard body ant.

Then if you want another way and use some Epoxy, here is another one, but even though I have some Epoxy the UV glue is just so much easier to control the setting.

If you want to see foam type or tore kinds of ant ties just go to YouTube and search Ant Fly!
