    Default KY Lake Level

You guys be safe out there. Looks like they're forecasting 364' in just a few days as they've shut off gates to relieve downstream flooding.

It's going to get interesting. You can run into some of the biggest fish in these lakes when there's high water. I'm cautiously pumped for the shellcracker bite...

I'm with you. My best days for big gills have come during high water.

I suppose this will effect Barkley as well.

I don't know if it is a hardened rule but I have found they almost always raise and lower both simultaneously. You can bet Barkley will be going up as well but a good place to check for sure is Explore Kentucky Lake.com in the Lake Conditions section which list both and also gives upcoming predictions and flow rates for both as well.

Barkeley and Kentucky Lakes are joined at the canal on the North End, if one lake was appreciably higher than the other, the canal would be a whitewater river.

A couple of years ago when the Nashville area was flooding they had ALL the gates open on the Cumberland (Barkley) and some of the gates on the Tennessee (KY Lake) and the canal was indeed flowing as hard as I have ever seen it. When they opened all the gates on the Kentucky Lake side it slowed.
