I'm always telling folks how Sardis "used" to look. I'd love to have some old photos of Sardis from Holiday lodge looking east or from Wyatt's crossing or other areas east of Holiday lodge. I can recall having to stay in the river at Wyatt's just to find the way out to the lake to fish and getting lost!
If anyone has any old photos they could post or links to some, I think it would be cool to share!![]()

yes sir, it would be interesting to see any old photos of those lakes. i can recall every tree at Piney Point at Sardis having Yo Yo's attached to them. be hard pressed to even catch many crappie around piney point now near where all the Yo Yo's were. I think the trees dying has something to do with it. tobey tuby used to be the go to spot. now, rarely anything. amazing how much the lake has changed and how the fish act.

I'd like to have one of all the Big 4.

With the Corp pulling the water off the timber and leaving it high and dry to rot has not helped. I remember when you could get lost on Sardis and Grenada.

First bass tournament I fished on Enid in 1974...timber had begun falling in Bean creek...it was jammed up so far out, you could not get a lure to the bank...Wore the paint off a couple of spinner baits that day....
The only pic I could find was from 1999. This is right out in front of the main ramp at Hurricane.

Biggest crappie to date is 3 lb 9 oz at grenada in 1988. Still hangs on my wall.
