They look fine, but I do use a #6 Sickle on mine and I do that because the original was even a smaller hook on the 1/16. You did well on the tail as that is a normal amount for this jig. I use the #6 also because it is shorter than the #4 and feel the tail of that kind fits better on a #6 and if you happen to tie some smaller hackle on that type the hook would stick out too much for me. It sill will work just fine, but I do like the tail extending past the hook as much as I can.
Oh also just as an FYI I usually just coat the lead head with Sally Henson's Hard as Nails because the original didn't have anything on it, just an unpainted head which this jig is and was so popular I didn't feel the need to really improve it much.

I've seen lots of different versions. Looks great to me! Very Nice! Just add water.
Really like the variation and got excited about tying a smaller version of the ones used this spring but couldn't find the sickle hooks with ball heads so ordered some on line and now am 'waiting' on delivery and changing to an ultralight rod and casting.--shu

If you guys would spend just a little time reading the sticky post at the top of this board a lot of the questions like this would be answered. The word V is in the topic on this sticky thread.
