A solo crappie trip Saturday. Hardly a soul on the lake and like night and day compared to last Saturday. Just fine with me. A lot of the crappie I caught were deep and tight to the bottom. The crappie have really made a quick exit from the shallows this year. I caught two "tiny" crappie which I think was the highlight of my trip. I caught 7 species in total again including a warmouth. It seems like I get one a trip. They will go back into hiding soon - wherever they go ? Berkley Gulp Smelt and Watermelon Pearl 2.5" on a StandOut hook "drop-shot" rig has been catching fish lately. I gave my next door neighbor my limit of crappie as I have a bad elbow and just wasn't up for cleaning them.
