Thread: Smithville Lake 4/20/2017

Lately I've been keeping an eye on the water level, temperature and reports by other anglers and decided Thursday would probably be the best day to go out of the week. Plan was to go by myself, scout some new areas before I invited anyone as I know it can be boring for them. Luckily I had a friend who didn't mind going with me even though he wasn't able to fish but shout out to him! Well I got to the lake around 5:20pm at one of the W bridges and sat there a little over two hours without a nibble. Some folks came and were doing quite well with jigs. We were about to move but then some more people came and went to the area we planned on going so we stayed. After a while I was able to pull in a couple dinks and 2-3 keepers. Everyone left when it got dark and I ended up with some good ones. If it wasn't for my friend, I would've left too, literally pitch black. Biggest was 12.5". Didn't think I was going to catch anything so I didn't bring a bucket but sure did tossed them in the trunk. Definitely had a good time out there! They were about 15-20ft out, 4-8ft deep and closer to the bank throughout the night. Special thanks to Jigfisherx( I copied your double rig) and all the tips/advice everyone has given me on here!
