Staff are investigating unexplained deaths or reduced activity in Silver Carp fish in Kentucky Lake and Lake Barkley.
Silver Carp seems to be the only species affected. If you see other fish species dead or behaving unusually in these lakes, please contact Jessica Morris at 270-759-5295.

    Investigate it---YES!!

    Stop it-----NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!

I've been on KY Lake a bunch and have seen dead, dying, and unusual activity with the silvers(swimming up to the boat, swimming in circles, swimming long distances while making a wake on surface) but no other species. Let's hope it continues.

The smell was hard to take in a couple of spots yesterday, there were so many dead Silvers. I can handle the stench if the die off continues.

Had one knock itself out when my trolling motor scared it and jumped into the bottom of my boat between the toons. Kamikazee style but the KnB toon is too tough fer em.

I noticed a lot of them skimming the surface when I was there. Not as many dead as I'd like to have seen tho. Even had one hit my trolling motor at one point. I could see them right under the surface.

I agree with the reports as I have noticed an unusually large amount of dead Asian Carp in the Little River area of Lake Barkley. I had one along the rip rap at my dock close enough where I walked down and picked him up and he was alive, barley. I also noticed many alone and swimming near the surface. Did not see any other signs or species just Asian Carp.
