Red has been very good for us this year - the smaller the better. Generally we try to stick with 1/24 or 1/32, if possible. Even when pushing, we used light red jigs. We would rig enough weight for the line to hang almost vertical from the rod while trolling...and about 12-18 inches above the bottom weight, we'd use a 3-way swivel to trail that light jig with a BG body.
