Well it was my pleasure, any time. I think you can say we had a good day, lol. Been that way for the past week, still a lot of nice fish wanting to spawn, the next two to three days will be better if you can find an open dock, like the ones we wore out, and no one will be on the best three we hit, lol. Those hand ties are hard to beat on this lake if you can learn my style of shooting. That line I use makes a big difference, changes the presentation, along with how I finesse fish. Going to be back at it tomorrow with another member will give update when we get off the water.

Good job there guys! If you don't mind, which lake did y'all fish?

You mention the type line, your style of shooting, and how you finesse fish. Can you share with us any of the details for this or is it top secret? PM if you don't want the world to know. (g)

Not top secret, just to hard to explain how I shoot, really need to be with me to watch and study, there's nothing to it. On the other hand the line I use is two pound vision on a old bluegill rod that is 5.5' ul but has good back bone to it. I can shoot a 1/32 hand tied jig that weighs a lot less than a 1/32 plastic jig further under a dock than most can get a 1/16. Most people think 2 pound is to light for crappie, just depends on if you can finesse the fish. I lift 1- 1 1/2 lb crappie in the boat with no net, it's all about the technique. I ve caught a 14.9 and a 24.5 lb flathead back to back on that rod and real, I know what it can and can't handle, that's the main thing one needs to learn to finesse fish, what the line will handle, what's the flexibility of the rod, and having the proper drag set.
