I grew up in the 60's/70's fishing this wonderful fisherie. I have pictures and memories of when it was formed as a young child.
I moved away from the Jackson area decades ago and today was my first chance to re-visit a part of my past.
I ventured up to the Lowhead Dam area of the river. I then took Pelahatchie Creek up as far as I could without endangering the condition of my boat...
I did get to meet BoatBottom at Tommy's Trading Post. Great Guy!
I can't wait to return... Soon hopefully...

Spend the weekend with us next weekend.
How many and what size were along the causeway rocks?

From the causeway, I only managed 9 keepers with a total of 15. The 'keepers' were between 10" and 12"... Nothing really big. I attributed my inability to find the big fish due to my absence from fishing here for so long. I know that there are much bigger fish on the rez... I gave all my fish to the other fishermen in my vicinity as I was staying with my in-law and did not want to deal with cleaning the fish.
The Welfare Hole did not produce as well for me either... I plan to do better on subsequent trips...
I really did. I was there for two days actually. The first day I put in at Tommy's and the second day I launched by the causeway. On my next trip I want to explore the Lost Rabbit area and the Coles Bluff area too. It will take me some time to re-learn the lake as it has changed so much since I was last there...
