A friend in TN also said that of his Titan. Literally danced the day it sold and left his driveway. Only ExTerra I had contact with was 2wd and loved it but didn't comment on the fuel use. It was a 4cyl and he was a trainer in the boy Scouts. He loved the space inside for all his outdoor stuff.

My Titan had an addiction to fuel. 13 on highway with cruise set at 65 and around 10 in town. Pulling my popup camper was 9 on hwy and with the 26' camper was 5-6 on hwy.

I drove a 2005 for two years and loved the truck. The major issue with the Xterras and Pathfinders from 2005-2010 were cracks forming in the radiator that forced coolant into the tranny through the cooler lines, destroying the transmission from the inside. I was lucky enough not to have any issues in the 40k miles I put on mine. Performance wise, I got around 19 mixed city/highway with 15 around town. Towing performance was amazing minus the drop in mileage pulling my fiberglass Javelin like it was nothing. I did love the performance of the SUV and only sold it to move back into a pickup. While it was thirsty for a V6, I seemed to have gotten better mileage than many that I've heard of on the net. Some knocked the all plastic interior but I loved it for the ease of cleaning out everything after a day hunting or fishing.

I have a 2011 Xterra 2WD, I don't have the fuel economy issues others have. I get up to 21 on the highway towing nothing and about 16 with my boat. Not sure of the boat weight, around 2000 lbs I would guess.

I love the Xterra and would recommend making sure the Carfax shows nothing bad. Hope that helps.

Don't know about Spaceman's Tundra .... but my 2006 gets about 15mpg towing my 16' Procraft/90Merc. By itself, in town, I'm lucky to get 13mpg.

Boat weighs 1500# dry weight, by itself. Add motor, full tank of gas, and my usual fishing stuff ... and it's probably a frog hair from 2000#

Truck is the SR5 Access Cab w/4.7L engine (& factory towing pkg). I think the gas tank is about 26gal. (sales sticker card said 12/city - 15/hwy) The 2006 was the last year of the "small" Tundras.

Mine is a 2006 double cab v8. No boat, I average 18. With the war eagle maybe 16-17. With the Triton 14.
