Default Chickamauga Lake crappie report 4/11/2017

I took my brother in law and nephew out for a morning crappie trip and we had to fish hard. We started off shallow on spawning banks to see if the fish had moved in again, but there were no fish shallow in the areas that we checked today. They may move in there tonight as it is the full moon phase tonight. So I moved to 15' drops with stumps and brush and it is there that we found a few nice fish.

The biggest was a 14.5 inch white crappie and it was caught on a chartreuse plastic that my brother in law gave me, but I don't know what the heck this thing is. It is a worm/bug looking thing. Grin. We would find schools of fish on these stumps and brush, but we could only catch 1-3 fish on each spot. I guess that we caught the dumb ones. We fished 1/16 oz and 3/32 oz jigs in the deeper water. Bass Assassin Pro tiny 2" shads and Bobby Garland 2" Baby Shads were the lures of choice today.

Good report Dickey. Your report is very much like our fishing and the same patterns lately. Surely a few shallow fish will show up with this full moon. We're still catching a lot with eggs. I guess that whatever that worm / bug thing is the main thing is that it's...chartreuse ! Thanks for the pics and report.
