I got off a little early and stopped by to try them.i stopped and got some minnows just to see.i caught 2 nice channel cats right off the bat.i put them on the stringer just in case I caught something to go with them.then I found some crappie about 2 feet off the bank. I caught 9 nice ones pretty quick and put them on the stringer.i caught another nice cat and was trying to put it in there and he was being honery.well,I dropped my whole stringer of fish in the water trying to get him on.made me sick.truth I promise.

Sounds like something I would do, sorry for your loss of your fish.

I really hate it when I do something bone stupid like that and I am sure most of us did that at one time or another. OR in pulling a basket of fish and the basket bottom opened up on you. Oh well, turtles will have a ball getting them.

Last Saturday I fished a lake you can't use a gas engine on. So I prepped the boat for launch, took the rarely used front rope and tied it to a sign at the ramp. Backed the boat in till it floated off the trailer then parked the truck. I then grabbed my minnow bucket and PFD from the truck and meandered down to the ramp when I noted the rope was no longer connected to the boat.. there the boat was floating away with me wondering if a swim was in order.

The good news is I got help from a guy with a John boat. He gave me ride. Lesson for me - check those ropes for damage/wear.

Damion, You caught a nice stringer! That is very positive when many others have been struggling lately. Good job! BTW...I had a similar issue a number of years ago in Washington State trying to string a ~30lb King Salmon. It happens to us all.

Yeah spaceman.i hadn't even thought about going.i usually have a basket and tie it off.it normally have everything in my work car.but I took it out to make room for some things.but I got off early and it was so nice out I just decided to go catch or not.i found them by accident.i cast and had a loop in my line.it landed just a few feet from the bank and I caught one before I could reel in.decided to try again and caught a few.a pleasant surprise.
