    Default Kentucky Lake

Hey guys I am headed to Beaverdam Kentucky to kill some thunder chickens on April 14th. Was thinking of bringing my boat and leaving on the 13th and staying a few days after I kill my turkeys to crappie fish a lake I have always wanted to fish, which is kentucky lake. Any suggestions of the nearest boat launch from that area? Also if there are any water hazards I should be worried about? What method I should attempt to catch a few (I maily spider rig and troll cranks but can solo-pole with the amatuers lol)? I know zero about the lake and never fished it. I'm totally in the blind. I do have electronics and certainly willing to find my own fish but any tips will be greatly appreciated. I will not be a "regular" on the lake maybe once a year 2x max as I live so far away from it. So no worries about me stealing anyones fish or sharing info with buddies. Just looking to make the most out of my trip. Thanx guys!

For KY Lake, KY Dam Marina ramp will be your closest choice unless you put in at one of the LBL ramps. Bring your crank gear. That bite is on already. Fish the type of water you would normally pull cranks.

Good luck Saturday morning chasing thunder chickens. I think we are in for a great season this year. Last year was horrible. Opening day of youth season a 3 year old bird came in running and my nephew leveled him at 20 yards. Around the house here, I have heard a fair amount gobbling and even had one come up in the yard to see if any of my chickens were looking for love. Can't wait til Saturday morning!

My buddies up there have been sending me videos everyday from up there. Seems they are loaded this year. I had a heck of a year last year....not in numbers but had a huge TOM play by the rules like he was supposed to! Whipping my jake decoy at 7 yards.......THINGS GOT PRETTY UGLY WITH THE OLE 10 GUAGE!
