    I'd look at going to one of the Huntsville City Parks like Brahan Spring Park off Drake Ave.

    Clean, mowed and well maintained banks with lots of gills. Should be a great place to take a kid for a few hours with some crickets and a bobber.

    I was out there with my extended family just hanging out. Me and my brother got out for an hour and caught 5 Crappie in the shallows. We went to Guntersville last Saturday and caught 20. We had a good time.
