The last two years I have had a bad problem with hawks getting the baby martins. The hawk will light on the gourd pole and a baby Martin that can't quite fly will jump out of the gourd and the hawk swoops down and get it. All this takes place in a few seconds. I am hoping that has not ran mine off

I have watched that too. Coopers Hawks here. Seems like they know when the young start flying.

I got about 20 right now, I got 24 guards up and they will fill them up in the next week or so. My dad has 48 and they were full last year, we need to put up more!

I counted 22 Monday. I have 44 gourds. 36 of them are natural gourds and I added 12 plastic gourds this year. They like the natural ones the best, but are starting to go in the plastic ones too.
