We made it to Okeechobee with no mishaps. Almost 600 miles so we were ready to stop riding and start fishing. Sunday we went to the Everglades and found the Oscar fishing slow. We kept around 30-40 which is a really slow day Oscar fishing. Our group of 4 boats had around 100 fish when 100 per boat is more normal.

These were bream we caught today.
Filled up one cooler and started on another, then decided we didn't want to clean any more.

We fished the lake today(Monday) and fought high winds. Gerald and I found a sheltered bay with decent water and we kept 35 Bream and 1 nice Oscar that hit my Beetle Spin and nearly spooled me.
We threw back many hand size bream also, so it was a good day for us, which was the top catch of our group so we felt pretty good.
We are going to Holiday Park tomorrow, reluctantly because of the air boat tours, but it is the Oscar hot spot now so go we will.
We usually get on the road at 7 and quit around 1. It is really hot here and the sun takes a toll on you. Highs around 91-95 so you feel it after a few hours, plus an hour ride back and an hour or two cleaning fish.
Bout to wear Mr. Gerald out but he's enjoying it. By days end I'm pretty tuckered too, then staying up to see our Lady Gamecocks win the National Championship, all good fun.
Not sure if I'll last through the men's game tonight since our guys lost Saturday.

Bream, my favorite fish to eat! Great report Ray. I know Mr. Gerald is having a ball. I know I would be having a ball. Good report and many thanks!

Ray, those are some giant Bream or a really small cooler how long were they.
I never caught anything that size when I fished them.
Thanks for the great report, save a little energy for the drive home.

There is nothing like having fun in Florida and catching plenty of fish to boot. Thanks for sharing Ray.

Sorry the fishing isn't the greatest, but the fellowship, warm air, and cold cocktails should help ease the pain. Enjoy, thanks for sharing.

It's not over until the fat lady sings! You still got a lot of fishing to do and don't wear out your partner either. Glad to hear your catching something. Hope it picks up for you'll so you can fill the boat up. I'd like to try those Oscar's once just in the catching part. I don't know that I'd like the flavor of them. Have a great time and keep us posted.

You can't catch fish from the couch.
