I buy most of my gear from Academy Sports. They typically have everything I need and they have some killer prices on clearance items. Just last Thursday I purchased two padded boat seats for $3.48 each. My best purchase has been 3 older BnM sharpshooter rods for one penny apiece. I buy alot stuff off EBay but good deals are getting harder and harder to find.

I have a Cabelas store not to far from me and pick up a lot of stuff from them,I also order from Grizzly jig which I think is a great store. We use to have small local tackle shops that I would buy my stuff from, but there all gone out of business.

My preference is to support the local bait shops first. Otherwise, I use a variety of retailers when they have sales such as Academy Sports, Dick's, BPS, Cabela's. I would/will definitely use some of the fine vendors on crappie.com if I need something that costs enough to justify shipping.

First two options are local hdwe store (supplies quite limited) or Foutz in CG. He can order most anything thru Amer Rod and Gun (BPS), Grizzly for everything else. Try to make a trip or two down there each year, but that is harder to do now that my partner is gone.

I buy those "basics" at Wallace World, or occasionally at a local baitstore. But, since I rarely use "those" basics (hooks/sinkers) and have a collection from years past ... I rarely need to shop for them.
Now, if you're talking jig heads, plastics, and such ... then most of them are purchased from Member Sponsors and members that do custom work.

Most of my gear is purchased local. For trolling needs, Frank's great outdoors, and Northwoods tackle.

If it is something custom (custom painted crank baits) I buy them directly from the source online.

I refuse to purchase anything fishing related from Wal-mart and I find myself NOT shopping at BPS or Cabelas these days.

I refuse to purchase from Gander Mountain.

Outside of custom stuff, ALL other orders of mine go through Fish USA. They have been good to me. Great service, prices, and fast shipping without charging you an arm and a leg for it.

I'm an opportunist... Walmart, Gander Mtn (if on sale/.clearance), local bait shops, a local tool retailer that has a bait section, Amazon/Internet, and Yard Sales.. Basically where I can find a good deal and price
