When you see how well it works you gonna want to spend the bucks to get set up. You don't have a trolling motor now?!?

I have literally never spider rigged before in my life....I have always just jigged around bridges and community DNR fish attractors...I really want to try it but I want to know if I like it before I go spending about 3-400 dollars on a trolling motor, rods, rod mount, and a new fish finder because my hook 7 was recently stolen when my truck got broken into.......I was wondering if I could try it with someone this weekend on wateree? It would be greatly appreciated![]()

From what I know Spider rigging is popular at Wateree. More tight line and Long line at Wylie I see here. There is also Power Tight line. Power tight line is straight down with 1 once baits and two 1/4th ounce jigs. You troll .3 to .6 straight down. Have not tried that I might give that ago next winter. There are different ways to catch Crappie. It is about what is fun to you. I like trying different ways but brush pile with one pole is my favorite. Ask around and do some research at what might work for you.

Can't help you this weekend but might can next weekend. Wait and see what weather looks like.
Where are you located? I was actually planning on tightlining some Saturday on Wylie. Plan was to longline first thing and narrow down a couple places to spider rig a little later in the morning.

When I'm long lining with an extra person in the boat sometimes I'll drop couple rods up front off each side with 1oz trolling sinkers and short leader with jigs. Sometimes catch as many on these as the long lines running .8 mph or so

be prepared, 3-400 isn't going to get you set up.
We use to run lines off the back and on the rods up front, we'd use a small egg lead weight ( like the coleman rig ) above a small swivel and run these lines under the ones out of the back, just not as far back. It works pretty good. Just watch your speed and know where you are pulling to avoid hang ups.![]()
