Didn't have internet access up there where we stayed so we was out of touch for the week...Didn't even have a TV!!! Had a good week on Grenada and Russ caught a 3.17 lber the first day we was there. I'm telling you one thing, when them fish on Grenada hit, they hit hard, mean and angry!! The big girls were right on the verge of squirting them eggs all week long. When Friday got there, the winds were up to 15-20 and gusting to who knows what. The fish had started hitting the 1-2 ft of water and there was just no way of me getting my boat that shallow. We tried to stay in the stick ups as much as possible but the wind was just too nasty. Only caught 1 fish on Friday that was a 2.07 (I think). Winds made it really tough!!. Saturdays forecast was calling for rain, thunderstorms, 20-25 mph winds with gusts of 50 mph possible and potential for severe storms. We decided not to fish in those reasons for safety reasons and went to the Bass Pro Shop in Memphis instead. We got back just in time for the weigh in and went there. Turns out that even though there was rain that morning, the winds were actually lower than they were on Friday and was fishable. We made a decision and stuck with it tho and erred on the side of safety. No regrets. Although we sucked in the tournament, we caught some good fish during the week and enjoyed our stay at Grenada. Had some tire trouble on the way home and our 7 1/2 trip home took almost 12 hours but we made it home safe and made some new friends and memories.
Well you did give it a try. No hurt, no harm... Almost 80 boats!!?? Sounds like a busy place last week.
