Crappie Sabiki rig of sorts

Thought I'd get opinions on my latest idea.
I troll 7 rods , 2 jigs each
I read that one reason trolling works is the fish see all those baits and it triggers a response more so than one jig.
If that's true then I plan on adding 2 more jigs per pole! Only here's the catch,, the extra jigs are like flys (no weight) and I cut the hook part off to avoid the massive tangles that might happen with so many hooks .
The fake jigs end up looking like this , plus other colors
The whole thing is like a sabiki rig but only 2 hooks at the bottom
Net effect is 4 lures per pole

CK already shot me down on this,
Other opinions?

Brett the idea sounds like it should help draw in the crappie because of more baits in the water running with your other baits. What may be the down fall is that you are going to loose fish because of false strikes on the baits with no hooks. The plus of adding more baits may be a bigger down fall.

Here's the reasoning
Currently with 2 jigs I catch 95% on the lowest lure
I think they see it go by
Swim to catch up
Hit 1st lure

Why not have hooks of the extras?
One thing I know about fishing is they don't stay on the line without a hook involved.

Brett, having masses of fish at one time is why the sabiki rig works. If you had crappies in masses all trying to eat at once it would work, but you don't, so that's why it would maybe be a problem and waste of your time. But then again you may be on to something. People use flashers to attract other fish in fresh water and saltwater. Great thinking! Will it work?

I have thought of putting a small spinner blade in line with a clevis and bead like you see on plastic worms. But, I thought I'd look stupid, like I did out in Idaho on the Snake River keeping Squaw fish caught on a bass lure, only to find out they got more bones than herring do.

If it does, you got a marketable item.

I can see it attracting, or getting the attention of crappie, especially in dingy, stained water. Like the others, I wonder how many false strikes would occur on the jigs with no hooks. The other issue that would need to be worked out is how deep would the rigs run. Would they run deeper because of the extra weight, or would they run shallower because of the extra surface area of the jigs without the weight of hooks or heads?

Discuss among yourselves.

I'll weigh one
I'd guess 1/ 100 oz

May ride higher than normal

Or you could fabricate a smaller, crappie sized version of the umbrella rig.
