Many years ago I was fishing a long underwater point. A skier came by and fell close enough we could talk without shouting. I asked him, "Why don't you ski out there in the middle? The water there is just as wet as it is here."
His reply... "Yeah but then you couldn't see me!"

As I said, I just don't understand people.

There will be days when the fishing is better than one's most optimistic forecast, others when it is far worse. Either is a gain over just staying home.

It used to be that fishing during the week really helped you avoid yahoos , not so much anymore. That said most of the people I run into are pretty nice.

It's funny you bring this up. This winter, more times than ever, I've had boats come up and fish the same dock as I'm fishing. Now they can see my boat is pointed in the direction that I'm traveling, but they come in right in front of me. On the Same Dock! I usually say REALLY! One guy said, "We're in a tournament, this is one of our spots." Another one said, "We've traveled 10 miles down to here and have had luck on this dock".. What's crazy is, we're the only boats on the lake! I don't really make a big deal out of it, because there are plenty of other area's I can fish, but come on. If I ever crowd somebody on a dock, is because I didn't see them, and I'll move as soon as I realize what I did.

My buddy once threw a crappie in an other boat (now that's close). He told them that if they wanted our fish so bad "here take this one" They just looked at us funny, never said a word and slowly moved away.

What really bothers me more than crowding is the noise, radios, screaming, boats racing around, etc.

I wish there was someplace quite to fish, that was peaceful and safe. 50 years ago there were just a lot fewer people and finding a peaceful outdoor space was a lot easier. Guess I could move to Canada but it's cold up there.

I get it, people having fun is the point of having public spaces.
