Prayer Request Will we miss it?

The wife and I have a cabin rented and geared up for a crappie fishing trip on Sam Rayburm March 30- April 2nd. With reports of the crappie moving in early this yea due to the mild winter, any thought on us missing the action on the slabs in shallow water?

Crappie spawn off and on starting in feb and on until into summer in theses parts , I would bet some fish would still be after it about that time ......heck it might even be really really good . Chin up no worries , if they are not extra shallow they won't be far away from where they do it would be my guess

Don't think you will moss it, but it will have started much earlier this year with all the weather changes. Talked to my neighbor yesterday as I have not been yet, but going very soon and putting boat in today. He told me they have been strange this year, several weeks back he was catching them in 6' of water, then next week he was finding them in 9' of water. then next in 4' of water and now in 7' of water. So they have not held one water depth like they usually do here. He also said he's only caught 3 females and they didn't have eggs ready to dump yet. That is from the 80 he has cleaned so far.

Also know I am only about 25 miles East of Rayburn where I am on Toledo Bend.

I have to tell you that I got to talk to my neighbor yesterday and he's puzzled over the way the crappie have been. Usually once they come in they stay at one main depth of water and its usually some place between 6' and 8' of water depth. This year though he said the first weekend he found them in 6' of water, next weekend it was in 4' of water, then 9' of water and then next one was in 7' of water. SO it may take some looking for sure!
