    Default First tied jig ever

Thought I could use the thread for tying on eyes for rods...wrong. It's ugly but I'm sure there is a half blind crappie out there that will be hungry enough. I call this one Electric Margarita. I will get better though...

I promise it looks a lot better than my first hundred or so. That will catch fish for sure.

I started tying with belly hair too. Mainly because it was really cheap. One thing that I learned is that it's longevity is rather limited. Fish will tear them up quick and so will your tackle box. (However, it does work!) I switched to kiptail, marabou and squirrel tail and have never looked back to the belly hair. I must have a dozen packages of the stuff that will most likely never be used again. I would suggest that you check out those other tail materials if you are concerned about longevity like I am. I absolutely love tying jigs but I hate it when they look all boogered up after catching a half dozen fish or getting jostled around in my tackle box for a week or two. Just my opinion that I've learned from experience. Good luck! Totally dig that color btw!
