    Default Info about Keowee

I've lived in the upstate for 10 yrs and haven't fished in any of the lakes. I'm usually in the mountains fishing for trout. I know the are places on Hartwell to fish from the bank but what about Keowee? I know a few people that live on Keowee where I could fish from their docks. Any crappie on Keowee? Thanks!

Plenty more crappie in Hartwell than Keowee. However, you can catch some in keowee I'm sure. I don't fish it for crappie tho. Hartwell is a better option. Check out around the Martins Creek bridge area on hartwell.

Welcome to the forum. I see very few reports on Keowee but some of our members live in the upstate so maybe on will pitch in with some advice. I'm sure there are crappie in the lake, just don't know any thing about fishing it.

I've been told that it's not good to eat fish out of Hartwell. Mercury levels are supposed to be to high.

    Default Info about Keowee

Studies show all of our waters have high Mercury levels and the reason not to eat big catfish, bass, strippers.
The Keowee River, Martin, Coneross, 18 Mile Creek and all of the leg of the lake on the Ga line. 6 & 20 Creek is another good part of the lake to fish.
