I went turkey scouting on my lease until about 2 pm Saturday then I decided I wanted to do a little fishing at the lake. I put my motor in the shop that morning at wateree marina since my lease is a mile or two down the road from it. So I was pretty much SOL on fishing....Until I remebered the kayak I kept under the lake house porch. So the kayak it was, I have never ever seen as many bass boats on the lake as I did that day. I caught one 3 1/2 pound bass on the shakey head before I gave up on the greenies. So my next mission was to play search and destroy with some ole "Crawpie". So I grabbed my bream buster and my tackle box full of jigs and I started "ripping" down the lake in my yak. I got to my favorite spot with about an hour of daylight left. But I only had 30 Mins to fish because of my paddle back to the house. On the first cast with the jig, I caught My PB or close to it crappie!! It was every other cast a fish!! Then I had a jon boat zip into the cove...I knew they were crappie fishing so I quickly picked up my bass rod and faked it. They were very nice and looped way around me giving me room to fish. After about they made about 14-15 unsuccessful casts they gave up and took off. So back to crappie catching I went, Sadly they stopped biting at dark.
(Almost forgot to mention I had one jump out as I was putting one in the cooler....I was crushed)
I went out the next day after the snow only armed with my breambuster and a jig and I only caught two bass and a perch. Needless to say, the cold front pushed them out quick.
(picture serves no justice)

Wait till this weekend if you wanna see bass boats. CBC is blasting off outta Clearwater marina. They can 200 guys at some tourneys.
Nice catch out of the yak. Thanks for sharing
Great work catching them from the kayak, some nice big wateree slabs there.
Congrats on a good short outing.
Thank a Veteran every chance you get.
